騙徒AI扮聲借錢! | HSUHK Anti-Scam

The Anti-Scam Education and Research Programme team would like to draw your attention to a recent AI scam case.

A friend of Hon Kingsley Wong Kwok, BBS, JP, Legislative Council Member, has fallen victim of an AI scam. The scammer used AI technology to mimic Hon Kingsley Wong’s voice and tone, impersonating him through voice calls to borrow money from his friend, who unsuspectedly suffered losses amounting to tens of thousands of dollars.

We would therefore like to remind you to stay alert of any potential scam cases. Always remember to double confirm with your friends and/or relatives if they are asking for money from you via telephone, voice calls, or video calls. If you are in any doubt, please call the Police’s anti-deception hotline: 18222, or inform your RC warden or your teacher immediately.
