The Anti-Scam Education and Research Programme would like to draw your attention to scam cases relating to “Click Farm.” (刷單賺佣騙局)
“Click Farm” means that you are recruited to shop on online shopping platforms to boost sales and earn commission according to your shopping amount (刷單). There are many recruitment advertisements recently on social media, luring victims to become “Click Farmers” as the job “has hefty commissions,” “requires no qualification or experience,” and that “you can simply work from home.”
Once you become a “Click Farmer,” the scammers would ask you to put goods into shopping carts on the online shopping platform and send screen-capture of your shopping carts to them. They will then instruct you to deposit the shopping amount into a designated bank account. You will NEVER receive your promised commission and even your deposits will be gone!!
We would therefore like to remind you to stay alert of any potential scam cases.
1. Watch out for jobs that relate to “Click Farmers (刷單員),” “Operators (下單員),” or “Likers (點讚員).”
2. NEVER pay for anything before you start working.
3. Be extremely cautious if employers do not disclose the company information in recruitment advertisements, or just leave their social media or instant messaging accounts for contact.
If you are in any doubt, please call the Police’s anti-deception hotline: 18222, or inform your RC warden or your teacher immediately.
